Forest School
We are very excited to announce that we have started Forest School Sessions in our own Forest School area. These sessions will take place throughout the year. Sessions will last approximately 90 mins. Forest School sessions will be run by Miss Riley who is a Level 3 Forest School Leader and supported by the Class Teacher and Teaching assistants.
Activities at Forest School :
Some of the activities we will be doing at Forest School are:
Shelter building, fire lighting, tool use, studying wildlife, playing team and group games, cooking on an open fire, using Kelly Kettle, rope and string work, art and sculpture work and woodland and traditional craft.
In Forest School, we follow the 6 Forest School Principles:
- Forest School is a long-term process.
- Forest School takes place in a natural wooded environment.
- Forest School aims to promote holistic development.
- Forest School offers learners the opportunity to take risks.
- Forest School is led by a qualified Forest School Leader.
