Today we went to church. First we walked to St Peter and ST Paul parish church. All of Red Kites went together, we went with Butterflies and Robins. The church is in Flitwick. Together we completed activities inside and outside of the church. We found a very old door outside of the church by the gravestones. It was over 800 years old! We felt the outside of the church and the gravestones. They felt rough and cold. Inside of the church we sat on pews. We completed a worksheet that asked us to find items around the church that included a stained glass window. They had pictures on them. We saw poppies in the church. This was because yesterday was Remembrance Sunday. We use poppies to celebrate the people who died when they were young. We learnt about the font. The Font is special because it is where children get christened. A cross in oil is drawn on the baby's forehead. The Vicar puts water over the baby's head and they light candles for the Godparents.
